Makita Circular Saws Powertools

Makita offer a very competitive range of cordless circular saws stretching from 10.8V – 36V (Twin 18V system). The largest of the range is the popular 18V system featuring several circular saws for cutting both wood and metal. All but one Makita 18V wood cutting circular saws sport a 165mm saw blade, this includes the DSS611, DSS610, DHS680, DHS660 and DHS661.

The main difference between the large range of 18V cordless circular saws is brushless technology, those that feature it give more power and longer run time. The DSS611 and DSS610 use brushed motors so are not as powerful or run as long as their brushless counterparts, but they do still deliver an astonishing amount of power. The DHS680, DHS660 and DHS661 circular saws all have brushless motors which are suitable for higher demands in a trade environment.

Makita also offer 36V cordless circular and plunge saws using their twin 18V system. The Makita DHS710 uses a 190mm saw blade to achieve a maximum cut of 66mm. Makita's 36V cordless plunge saws have been designed with brushless motors to deliver as much power as a mains powered machine but without the inconvenience of a cable. The DSP600 and DSP601 both use a 165mm saw blade, ADT and AWS technology and in the case of DSP601 Bluetooth technology to connect to Makita's cordless dust extraction.
