Makita 196684-1 150mm Soft Velcro Backing Pad - BO6030 / BO6040
The Makita 196684-1 backing pad is a 150mm soft rubber sanding pad for the Makita BO6030 and BO6040 random orbit sanders. It has a hook-and-loop (Velcro) face for securing 150mm sanding discs and is the soft pad intended for general sanding applications.
If the backing pad on your Makita sander has become worn, damaged or is no longer holding sanding discs securely, replacing the pad can restore the correct contact between the sanding disc and the tool. The 196684-1 is a 150mm backing pad with 8 holes and is fitted to the sander using the original fixing.
This Makita 150mm backing pad is suitable for both the BO6030 and BO6040. It is commonly searched for as a Makita BO6030 backing pad, BO6030 sanding pad, Makita BO6040 backing pad or BO6040 sanding pad.
The soft construction is suited to general sanding and allows the pad to follow the work surface more readily than the harder backing pad used for more aggressive sanding applications.
