Makita 213151-2 — Oil Seal (14 mm)
Keep your Makita reciprocating saw’s gear housing sealed with the original Makita 213151-2 oil seal. This is the factory replacement seal (marked “OIL SEAL 14”) used where the drive sleeve / shaft meets the gear housing to retain lubricant and block dust and debris. In parts diagrams it’s the small 14 mm seal that sits with the matching X‑ring (213174‑0) inside the gear / housing cover assembly.
Key details
- Part number: 213151-2 (original Makita).
- Nominal size: 14 mm (specified as “OIL SEAL 14” in Makita parts lists).
- Location: fits into the gear housing / gear housing cover near the plane bearing in the reciprocating saw assembly (included as an item with the gear housing cover on Makita diagrams).
- Commonly replaced together: X‑ring 213174‑0 or the gear housing cover.
Example Makita parts for this model :
- JR3050T / JR3050TX / JR3050TY reciprocating saws.
- DJR181 (cordless reciprocating saw) and BJR181 , DJR186 / DJR187 / DJR188
Why this part matters
- Restores the original seal between the drive sleeve / shaft and gear housing so lubricant stays where it should and internal components are protected from dust and chips. It’s the same numbered, factory part used in Makita service diagrams, so it drops into the housing location designed for a 14 mm seal.
Simple fit note
- The seal is seated in the gear housing cover near the plane bearing (check the parts diagram for your model). If you’re replacing the seal, also inspect the adjacent X‑ring and bearing surfaces and replace as needed.
