Original Makita 232220-0 — Leaf Spring (LXPH03)
Small stamped leaf spring used in the speed-change / lever area of many Makita drills and drivers. This is the original Makita leaf spring (LXPH03) that provides the return/tension action for the speed-change or F/R lever; it’s the same part shown in official parts diagrams and replacement lists.
Why this part matters
- Restores proper feel and engagement of the speed-change or forward/reverse lever when the original spring is cracked, flattened or missing.
Example models that use 232220-0 (representative, not exhaustive)
- XPH07M / XPH07Z (XT705PT kit), XPH14Z.
- DDF458, DDF481, DDF485; DHP458, DHP485 and similar DDF/DHP/BDF series cordless drill/drivers.
- Older LXPH03 / 6319 / 6339 / 6349 style drills (listed in Makita parts diagrams as LXPH03-type).
Quick specs & fit notes
- Makita part number: 232220-0; description in parts lists: “Leaf Spring, LXPH03.” Sold as the single leaf spring piece
- Intended to replace the small spring in the speed-change / lever assembly — install in the same orientation shown on the parts diagram and retain any small pins/screws that locate it.
If your drill’s speed-change or F/R lever is loose, sticky or won’t stay in gear, replacing the 232220-0 leaf spring with this original Makita part will usually restore proper operation.
