Makita 319872-5 — Front base (movable shoe), original Makita replacement for the DKP181 planer series.
This front base is the removable movable shoe that sits at the front of the planer and gives you the tool’s contact surface with the workpiece; it includes the three chamfering (V) grooves used for chamfer cuts and installs by removing the two screws on each side of the tool’s front.
Fits Makita DKP181 models (examples: DKP181, DKP181RTJ, DKP181RTJU, DKP181ZU) as a direct replacement for part number 319872-5.
Supplied as the original Makita front base (part no. 319872-5), it replaces a worn, cracked, or damaged front shoe so your planer once again rides flat and the chamfer grooves function correctly. For context, this fits the 82 mm planing-width DKP181 series.
