This genuine Makita metal connecting rod (item 053 in the HR5212C/HR5202C parts diagram) restores the internal crank–piston linkage so the hammer action runs smoothly and reliably. The rod is shown in Makita’s service/parts diagrams alongside the matching flat fillister head pin (6 mm, part 256548-2), guide ring and piston components, so it installs into the crank assembly exactly where the piston drive is transferred. Fits Makita HR5212C and HR5202C (listed in the official parts breakdown) and is the same replacement part referenced in those exploded diagrams.
