What’s included and key details: the assembly is supplied as a complete idle‑pulley group (pulley + shaft and hardware) as shown in the Hitachi parts diagram. The parts list identifies the shaft as D10 (10 mm) and shows the metal washer noted as D10×14×12 plus retaining ring, adjusting screw and spring as part of the assembly — so you’ll get the components needed to restore the idle pulley mounting and tracking mechanism.
Why this part matters: replacing a worn or seized idle pulley restores proper belt tension and tracking (the idle pulley is the tensioning/guide element the lever moves when you fit a sanding belt), so swapping in the original Hitachi 953057 returns the sander to correct belt alignment and operation. The SB series sanders that use this assembly run the standard sanding belt 76 × 533 mm.
