Original DeWalt N864736 — a small retaining (hog) ring used in the front/anvil assembly of DeWalt 18V impact drivers; it clips into the nose to hold the collar/washer/anvil components in place so the bit holder and impact mechanism stay aligned.
Fits (examples): DCF840E1T / DCF840B, DCF850 series (DCF850B / DCF850P1 / DCF850D2 variants), and other related 18V impact drivers such as DCF860 — check your tool’s parts diagram to confirm exact type number before installation.
Supplied individually and sold as the original DeWalt replacement ring, it’s the part you need when the snap ring on the nose has spread, broken or fallen out — a small, simple swap that restores secure bit retention and correct front-end spacing. DeWalt parts diagrams list it as part number N864736 for the models above.
